Itinerary
Day 1 : Blois - Chambord - Cheverny
- 43 km
For this first day, you will visit the most iconic castle: Chambord.
Reach the Loire river banks and cycle up to Saint-Dyé-sur-Loire where you will enter the forest. Take your time to visit Chambord castle and its incredible staircase. Keep cycling until you arrive in Cheverny where your hotel is located.
Day 2 : Cheverny - Chaumont-sur-Loire - Mosnes
- 40 km
Do not leave too late as the next castle to visit is Chaumont-surLoire. The site has a Renaissance castle (with Belle époque style interiors), a park where contemporary pieces of art are on exhibition and an international garden festival which theme changes every year.
Day 3 : Mosnes - Chenonceaux - Amboise
- 46 km
Today, you will ride your bikes to Chenonceax city, where you will visit Chenonceau castle. Floating above the Cher river, discover this architectural jewel and its tumultuous story. In the afternoon, take your bikes to the royal city of Amboise.
Day 4 : Amboise - Villandry
- 50 km
A long day awaits you today as you will reach Villandry by following the Loire river first and then the Cher river. Villandry castle is surely known for its French gardens which are a delight to explore!
Day 5 : Villandry - Azay-le-Rideau - Chinon
- 45 km
Go through the countryside to reach the lovely town of Azay-le-Rideau where you will visit its castle built on an island in the middle on the Indre river. Keep cycling to Chinon city where you will spend your last night.
Day 6 : Chinon - Fontevraud - Saumur
- 48 km
Follow the Vienne river until you reach Montsoreau - labelled one of the most beautiful villages of France - where you will enter the countryside. Keep cycling until you arrive at the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud. Visit this monument where was buried Richard I of England. Then, take your bikes and cycle to Saumur, your final destination.

How to arrive in Blois?
By train : Blois-Chambord Station. Our shop is at a 5 min. walk from the station.
By car: Highway A10, Blois/Vendôme exit
How to get back to Blois from Saumur ?
By train - from Saumur station to Blois-Chambord Station: about 2h. / 7trains per day.
